Bio Images

Discover Art and Science in Nature

Discover images that educate generations, inform global audiences, and serve publishers, institutions and collectors with imagery shaped by four decades of fieldwork and scientific insight.

All images are available as Royalty Free downloads or extraordinary museum-grade Fine Art prints.

Every image in the archive has been created by Jason Edwards. There is no aggregation. No third-party content. Just a lifetime in the field.

The archive has supplied imagery to educational and book publishers, advertising agencies, news organisations, magazine publishers and conservation bodies worldwide. It continues to inform, inspire and educate — from primary school classrooms to international campaigns.

Founded in 1992, Bio-Images began as a response to demand.

Educational publishers were repeatedly contacting the Zoological Board of Victoria and the Royal Melbourne Zoo seeking accurate, authentic wildlife imagery. The Zoo directed them to a young zookeeper with a camera — Jason Edwards. From those early commissions, Bio-Images grew over four decades into a substantial independent archive, now comprising approximately 1.5 million frames captured across all seven continents — spanning wildlife, wilderness, biodiversity, scientific documentation and cultural encounters from some of the most remote and ecologically significant regions on Earth.

Bio-Images represents a lifetime of access, patience and proximity. It is both a working archive and a visual legacy.
