For more than eight years, I worked with Critically Endangered Sumatran Tigers on a global breeding program with major conservation institutions. They are endemic to the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It was a labour of love with a very engaging female, and a relationship of caution with the large male.

A coalition is how we refer to Cheetah when they move in numbers. Aside from mothers and cubs, a coalition of Cheetah usually consists of brothers raised in the same litter. There are obvious benefits to hunting as a pair, but there are also inherent risks when females are involved. A dominance hierarchy is established that at times can end the brothers journey together.
